At Ease in Zion?

A stirring up from slumber. Amos was burdened. Woe to the careless! Judgment is at the doors. And the church, by and large, is sleepy. Christian couch potatoes. Idol worshippers. With David, Samson and Jonah their love of ease was their downfall. A rousing call to awake, to zeal, to action. We must sound the alarm. We have become too comfortable and unconcerned. The church is dormant while the world around us is damned. We've been in the comfort zone too long. How we desperately need a stirring up of the slumbering to revived passion and power. How can we stir up ourselves to take hold of God? Disturb us, O Lord we pray!

As it was in the Days of Noah

A dramatic sign for modern man.  Judgment looms, just as  in Noah's day.  Noah found grace, and trusted God.   Will you heed the signs of Noah and be saved?

Jonah

Jonah went in the opposite direction but God redirected him.  He tried to disobey God's Word and escape God's presence and plan, but to no avail.  God has a way of getting our attention.  We cannot outrun God.  He extends kindness still if you will but trust Him.

It's a recurring theme - take heed. Take heed, we are told, to how we build. The reckoning time is coming - the Judgment Seat of Christ. What will your life's work be? Watch out. Take heed to your Bible. Take heed to yourself and your doctrine.

Set Thine House in Order

Hezekiah was facing death. God has set an appointment for us with death. Are you prepared? Is your life in order? Order is God's design for His creation, His church, the home, and the godly life.

The Writing is on the wall

The writing is on the wall for our nation. Humanism. Materialism. Secularism. Broken homes. Our children are medicated. Our communities, families, and churches, have lost their way. It's now a hate crime to speak the truth. God is not mocked - as a society we face judgment. We've been weighed in the balances and found wanting. Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord. Let us retirn unto the Lord.

Lessons from Lot

Lot made some faulty decisions and we can see his life is a warning sign to prayerless men and carnal Christians. Escape for thy life! And don't look back!

Judgment Day

The time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God. What is God’s judgment? Who will face it? How do we prepare for it? It’s evident, it’s universal, it’s now, and it’s coming!

The Passover

God's judgement falls on Egypt. A devotion at the Lord's Table.

There had to be a death in every home that night - either a dead lamb or a dead son. We all deserve destruction, darkness and death. But God has provided Himself a lamb – the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. The Passover reveals our great need for the Substitute, the Safety, and the Sacrifice. God brings great deliverance and victory because of Calvary.
